     Jobs/Roles in the ECE Community: Internationally

      The three international organizations that I like would be the United Nations Children Fund, (UNICEF), Save the Children, and National Association for the education of young children.  The First international organization I liked is The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). The reason I like this organizations because they make changes to healthy and well-being of children in the world today.

     One job that interest me is the Assistant  Director -Generals For The Social And Human Sciences. This job have have one or more jobs in the areas to work in the UNICEF organization as a leadership and strategic vision for the Social and Human Sciences Sector, both for Headquarters and for Field Offices, in line with the Organization’s Medium-Term Strategy for 2014-2021 and the emerging post-2015 development agenda (UNICEF, 2014). The degree is Advanced university degree or equivalent professional experience in a discipline related to UNESCO’s mandate.

     Another international organization that I like is Save the children. I chose Save the children because they work with children and families by dealing with their issues in their everyday lives. They give them a health jump in their live to be sucessfull in their life. The reason I like Save the children is they are the voice for the children. This job stated "Campaign and Advocacy Strategy Director is responsible for leading the strategic planning, capacity building, and monitoring, evaluation and learning for our global campaign and our wider country-level advocacy (Save the children, 2014). The job is current available until September 2014.

QUALIFICATIONS
·         Educated to degree level in a relevant field

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

·         Proven campaign leadership at a senior level, preferably in a global context, and ability to lead in a complex networked organisation.
·         Experience in leading the creation of a strategy, demonstrating the ability to identify the necessary steps towards an ambitious goal.
·         Experience of a range of campaigning and advocacy techniques and approaches, especially in developing country contexts, and a strong understanding of global campaigning trends.
·         A track record of successful project management, with a proven ability to forge consensus and drive action.
·         Experience of building personal networks at senior levels, resulting in securing significant new opportunities for the organisation.
·         Experience of solving complex issues through analysis, definition of a clear way forward and ensuring buy in.
·         Significant experience of managing staff with different backgrounds and expertise, in both line management and matrix management structures, building and developing their performance.
·         Willingness to travel overseas for up to ten weeks a year.
·         Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse setting.
·         Understanding of and commitment to Save the Children’s values and ways of working.

The last international organizational is National Association for the education of young children. It is organization the provide for young children Improving professional practice and working conditions in early childhood education Improving professional practice and working conditions in early childhood education. The reason I love this oraganization because it help children and families 
to change law. 

The jobs I like was Senior Director, NAEYC Academy for Early Childhood Program Accreditation with this jobs it did not state the quailfations or experience listed.

You have chosen great organizations. They each do so much for children. It is hard for me to fathom that with all the organizations fighting for the health, safety and education of young children that we are still having to fight so hard to be heard.

Chiquela,

I believe you found a great career opportunity for someone interested in international advocacy. The Campaign and Advocacy Strategy Director for Save the Children sounds like a position that would require a great deal of passion for the field on an international level. I believe this person would also need to be a great leader who can inspire others to want to advocate for young children. Thanks for sharing!
