wk 3 Blog Assignment: Research that Benefits Children and Families—Uplifting Stories

Research that Benefits Children and Families

Option 2:
Imagine that you possess the means and the knowledge to conduct research studies about any topic in the early childhood field. Imagine further that you are not restricted by the reality of the present. Imagine that your study will make a major positive contribution to the well-being of children and/or their families. What topic would you choose? What can you imagine the positive contribution(s) would be?

I would do research on how children learn through play. I picked this topic because children do learn through play while they are in or outside. Children love to play outside on the playground to ride their bike and play with toys. I would let my children learn about the world for they want be lost. Play helps children with their physical development, cognitive concepts, language, and their social skills. With their physical skills children learns to balance, climb, and use their hands to grab objects. They also learn to solve problems with each other and thing.

As a parent we should make sure that our children learn through play. Parents should make sure they are involved in their children play. We should make sure we play with the child and not just watch them play. I think children love to be involved with parents while they are playing with them. They are so excited about how their parents be interact with them. I love interacting with my children at my job they like to play dress up with me.

I hope that this will help parents to be more interacting with their children while they are playing with their children while they are play. You have to ask different question to develop their learning skill to new words to use.

Hi Chiquela,

Play is important for the development of children. Unfortunately, nowadays forms of play have changed. Right from their infant years parents push the latest electronic gadgets into their hands such that we often find in our classrooms children sitting in front of blocks and puzzles not knowing what to do with them. We as educators have a huge responsibility to facilitate play that would support emotional, social, cognitive and creative growth.

Hello Chequela,

Thanks for your post on children learning through play. The research on this topic is vast and should provide many a school administrator and parent the information to encourage them to protect the validity of play in the early years of a child's dvelopment.

Children learn best through play. They are able to experiment and explore their environment through play. Their is alot of research that can be gained by learning how children learn through play.
